Charleston Annex Corporation was founded in 1972 by Gerald Mannion. His goal? To buy and sell top-notch heavy-duty metalworking machinery. In the 1990’s, his sons, Lance and Mark, entered the used machinery industry, along with his grandson Cory in 2015, and strive to carry on that legacy today…specializing in high-end CNC and manual metalworking equipment.

EMPLOYEE BIOS

Gerry Mannion is the CEO of Charleston Annex Corporation, starting in the machinery business over 50 years ago. Throughout the course of his career he has achieved much success. In 1961, he was one of the founding members of the MDNA, a prestigious association of machinery dealers. He has personally been involved with the auctioning and liquidating of over 800 companies, both nationally and internationally. Gerry founded Charleston Annex Corporation in 1976 as a high end used machinery dealer, originally specializing in horizontal boring mills and chip making machinery.

Lance Mannion is President of Charleston Annex Corporation. He started in small machines and tooling sales in Charlotte area in 1987. In 1990 Lance worked within the Industrial Auction Industry to clean-up facilities across the United States organizing equipment for auction sales and in 1998 re-incorporated Charleston Annex Corporation with CEO and father Gerry Mannion to present. His knowledge in the Metalworking Industrial field is extensive as he is worked in all aspects of machinery sales including appraisals, machinery cleaning, sales, customer service and support.

Kim Harris joined Charleston Annex Corporation in 1996. Originally an Air Force kid, she went to college at Miami University in Oxford, OH. As CFO, Kim handles all things pertaining to the accounting of purchasing and selling our machinery. 

Mark Mannion is Vice President of Sales at Charleston Annex Corporation, having joined the company in October 1996. Well versed in the industrial world, his background includes sales in small tooling and machinery, as well as set-up scenarios and supervisory positions within the metalworking industry. Mark has been involved with the MDNA (Machinery Dealers National Association) for many years, and today, oversees the acquisition and sale of machinery for Charleston Annex. Brandy Reece has been with Charleston Annex Corporation in 2004—beginning as an assistant, she now heads our Advertising Department. She is responsible for the marketing and advertising of our machinery inventory in various print and web metalworking and manufacturing related publications.

John Soukup is the Operations Manager for Charleston Annex Corporation, having joined the team in 2019. With a background in Applications Engineering, he spent several years in technical sales representing major manufacturer’s lines of CNC machinery. Prior to that, he spent three decades in process engineering, machine design, and VP of Engineering within the metalworking industry. Contact John at johns@charlestonannex.com.

Cory Mannion is the third generation of Mannion to join Charleston Annex Corporation and works as one of our Sales Executives. As Lance’s eldest son, he has been around machinery and industrial equipment his entire life. He began cleaning inventory as a teenager, before joining the company part time in 2015 and coming into the business full time in 2020. With a background in multi-media marketing, he also assists the CAC marketing team with everything from cleaning, photographing, and updating inventory, to email campaigns and online marketing strategy.
